A Family of Time
Keeping a Promise
Keeping a Promise
I made a promise to my wife before she passed away that I would finish the story, I would do my best to get it published, and if I could at least try to see it made into a movie. The first two promises I have kept, but unfortunately they happened after her death. The third is a more tricky one to keep for many reasons. I will not go into those reasons right now, but I personally think that the first novel would do better if it is combined with the second novel I completed.
I was brought up that if you gave someone your word you should stand by it . Since she stood by me and supported me during our thirty-seven plus years of marriage, I would be less than human if I didn't stand by my promises to her. She helped with some of the ideas within the first novel and my inspiration to even write it in the first place. The only things I had written before that were published were poems which were published in a couple of poem collection books. The only other thing written was lyrics to a song. I was able to have a company write the music for it and I did get it copyrighted, but it was never recorded for the public to hear.
I am closing this page with the dedication I wrote for my wife, Denise C. Scott-Murchison, and others which is in the first book.

Dedication
I DEDICATE THIS BOOK in memory of my wife, Denise. It was her wish that I complete it before she passed, but that didn’t happen. She supported me not only in this endeavor but in everything we did during our thirty-seven-plus years of marriage. The book is also dedicated to other family members who passed after I started writing it and to my family members who are still alive today at the time of this writing.
This book is additionally dedicated to those who had the vision of space travel, to those who worked to make space travel an actuality, and to those whose lives were lost for the pursuit of space exploration. Our remembrance of people who were involved in space exploration is one key to our continued pursuit of a future in space. The names of these people would make quite a list—too long to include here, though some are mentioned in the Acknowledgments section toward the end of this book. Some made the history books, some became famous, but many of them are known only to their families and friends. As long as we continue to move forward with space exploration, the list will continue to grow.
